In this good-natured satire upon dictatorship, George Orwell makes use of the technique perfected by Swift in 'The Tale of a Tub'. It is the history of a revolution that went wrong and of the excellent excuses that were forthcoming at every step for each perversion of the original doctrine. Dustcover in near fine condition with a small closed tear near the bottom corner of the front cover. Some light wear and creasing to the head and tail of the spine and some very light soiling to the back cover. Browning to page edges and discolouration to inside covers, endpapers and the first and last few pages of the book. Otherwise a very clean copy of a scarce edition of this wonderful Orwell title. A very good plus copy.
