Hardcover. 8vo. Very good condition. 1218 pages. Marbled paper over boards with leather to the spine. Text in English. Both joints split but both boards are still intact and are being held together by the binding cords, quite fragile. General edgewear and soiling to the boards. Spine very much edgeworn with numerous small losses and chipping to the ends. Lacking the leaf numbered 1191/1192. Some minor discolouration and dampstaining to some interior pages but on the whole a reasonably clean copy. Quite scarce!

Includes 15 full page plates.

The contents of this edition include - historical account of Yorke and Gibbon families, original critical remarks on Shakespeares plays, new annecdotes of the battle of Worcester, authentic documents of ancient British hiostory, lines written by a lady visiting Sutton Place.
