Hardcover. 8vo. Very good condition. 597 pages. Marbled paper over boards with leather to the spine. Text in English. Both joints split but both boards are still intact and are being held together by the binding cords, quite fragile. General edgewear and soiling to the boards. Spine very much edgeworn, rubbed and with a large loss to the head. Bookplate to the front pastedown. 4cm tear to the top edge of page one. Some minor discolouration, foxing and soiling to some interior pages but on the whole a reasonably clean copy. Quite scarce!

Of the original 25, 13 full page plates remain. Including a quite impressive 5 panel plate illustrating two bridges over the Rhone in France and 2 bridges over the Thames in England. Also a 3 panel plate of St. Pauls Choir in London. Various in text illustrations.

The contents of this edition include - various essay, poetry, history, insects in Carolina, pagan theology symbolized, flourishing settlement in Nova Scotia, lists of books and pamphlets published in 1750, men more incorrigible than women and so on.
