Hardcover. 8vo. Very good condition. 1036 pages over two volumes. Marbled paper over boards with leather to the spine. Text in English. Both joints on both books split but the boards are still intact and are being held together by the binding cords, still quite strong and very much intact. General edgewear and soiling to the boards. Spine very much edgeworn, rubbed and with light chipping to the ends. Bookplate of John Corbet Esq. to the front pastedown. Some minor discolouration, foxing and soiling to some interior pages but on the whole both volumes are reasonably clean. A couple of edge tears to a few pages including a couple of thhe plates. Quite scarce!

14 full page plates remain including a couple of fold out plates some of which have minor edge tears.

The contents of these two volumes include - various essays, poetry, history, summary of proceedings in the present session of parliament, review of new publications, character of the late Captain Cook, original letters from Dr. Johnson to Mr. Cave, original love letter of the poet Dryden and so on.
