Brown half leather over marbled boards with marbled pastedowns and endpapers. 5 raised bands to the spine with the titles in gilt. 4 full page frontispiece steel engravings. Vol 1 - 442 pages, Vol 2 - 438 pages, Vol 3 - 425 pages. Considerable edgewear and rubbing to the covers of all volumes. Light chipping to the spine ends. Remains of a bookplate to the front pastedowns. Previous owners stamp to the front and back free endpapers. Light soiling to page edges. Volume one lacking front free endpaper. Vertical creasing to pages 190 to 204 of volume 2. Else a very good set.
