First Edition. Hardcover without dustcover as issued. 4to. Very good condition. Numerous b&w photographs. Text in English. Photographs by Robert Frank with text by Gilbert Millstein. Covers and spine soiled and stained. General edgewear to the covers and in particular to the spine edges. Spine split in a number of places, mainly to the joints. Tape residue to the head of the spine area. Spine quite fragile but very much intact. Scuffs to the joint area of the first image spread where the page was once stuck together. Light yellowing to the page edges. A light tobacco odour. This copy comes from the personal library of Ralph Gibson who was responsible for publishing the American first edition of Robert Frank's The Lines of My Hand. The book is stamped Ex-Libris Ralph Gibson. An exceedingly rare title and an excellent association copy.
