First Edition. Spiral bound softcover. Folio. Fine condition. Numerous b&w photographs. Text in English and French. Photographs by Man Ray with text by Andre Breton, Paul Eluard, Rrose Selavy and Tristan Tzara. Stated second edition which is actually the first edition after the publisher recalled the book and then switched the copyright page to suggest that the book was sold out and in a second printing. Copies with the first edition copyright page apparently do exist but are exceedingly rare. Very light edgewear to the covers. Light rubbing to the back cover. Two small horizontal splits to the comb of the sprial binding. Page 39/40 lightly creased. Light rubbing from the gravure printing to most pages. Otherwise a very clean, fine copy. Housed in a custom made brown cloth over boards clamshell case. Inscribed as follows - / To Grace Calver / and to Dr. Brumler / with my compliments Man Ray 1949 /.
